Ingredients to make Kesari Malai Murgh

  • Chicken-600 gms
  • Ginger garlic paste-2 tbsp
  • Green chilli paste-1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice-1 tbsp
  • Yellow Chilli Powder-1 tsp
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder-1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1 tsp
  • Chicken Masala Powder-1 tbsp(I Used Everest Brand)
  • Onions- 2(For deep frying)
  • Hung Curd- 5 tbsp
  • Cinnamon-1 inch
  • Cloves-2-3
  • Black cardamom-2
  • Kasuri Methi- 1 tbsp
  • Cream- 1tbsp
  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • Ghee-1 tbsp
  • Salt-As per taste
  • Sugar- 1tsp
  • Pinch of Saffron soaked in Milk or Saffron Essence - Few drops

How to make Kesari Malai Murgh

  1. Marinate the Chicken with Ginger Garlic and green chilly paste, Salt and Lemon juice & turmeric powder.
  2. Heat Oil in a kadhai and deep fry the onion slices till golden brown. Once done put the onions aside and in the same oil add ghee,cinnamon,clove and cardamom. Add the marinated chicken.
  3. Cook it on the medium flame for 5 mins. till the chicken gets a light golden color.Whisk the hung curd and add it to the chicken, cook it for another 5 mins.
  4. Add the yellow and red chilly powder, chicken curry powder, salt, sugar and kasuri methi. Mix , cover and keep it on medium flame till the chicken is cooked.
  5. Once the oil starts leaving the sides add the fried onions and mix well. Now add the cream and the saffron soaked in milk/saffron essence.
  6. Garnish with little a little bit of fried onions and enjoy it with Lacchha Paratha/Naan/Pulao.
My Tip: When adding the Kasuri Methi you can add a little bit of butter which makes the gravy more rich & creamy.
