punjabi chole masala is favourite among many Indians. I like punjabi chole masala curry with bhatura..so today I make these yummy restaurant style chole masala.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 cups soaked chole
  2. 2 tbsp Oil
  3. 1 medium size onion chopped
  4. 2 medium sized tomato
  5. 1 TBSP GREEN CHILLI PASTE
  6. 1/2 tbsp Ginger Paste
  7. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  8. 2 bay leaf
  9. 1 pinch of hing
  10. 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  11. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  12. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  13. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  14. Salt according to taste
  15. 1 tbsp chole masala
  16. Chopped green coriander for garnish
  17. 1tea bag
  18. Pinch of sugar(optional)
  19. Pinch of amchur(optional)

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker boil soaked chole with water, tea bag and pinch of salt.
  2. Strain the chole and reserve the boiled water for gravy.
  3. In a vessel heat oil. Add cumin seeds and bay leaf.
  4. Add chopped onion and ginger chilli paste. Saute it for 1 minute then add chopped tomatoes.
  5. Now add all masala(spices) mention in ingredients. Mix it well till oil leaves the surface of vessel.
  6. Now add boil chole and boiled reserve water.
  7. Mix it well and let be simmer it on sim flame for 10 minutes.
  8. Add pinch of sugar and a pinch of amchur. This step is optional.
  9. In last garnish chole with chopped green coriander.
  10. Serve these yummy restaurant style chole with rice, naan or bhature.

Very tasty . One must add Amchur or Anar Dana ( pomegranate seeds dried) for tat Tangy feel. Anar Dana seeds no matter how fine they are ground but still they stuck in ur teeth. So I avoid them.
