Ingredients to make Mushroom Tikka Masala Restaurent style

  • For mushrooms marination-
  • Mushrooms - 250 grams
  • Hung curd- 4 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder- 2-3 pinches
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chat masala-1/2 teaspoon
  • Ginger garlic paste-1.5 teaspoon
  • Lemon Juice- 1/2 tablespoon
  • Ajwain- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil- 1/2 tablespoon
  • Besan- 1/2 tablespoon
  • Salt- As per your taste
  • For gravy-
  • Onion- 2 small to medium
  • Cashews- 8 to 10 soaked
  • Tomatoes- 3 large
  • Capsicum- 1 big in size
  • Oil- 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger Garlic Paste-1 teaspoon
  • Green chillies- 2 slit cut
  • Turmeric Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Nutmeg powder- 2 pinches
  • Salt- As per your taste
  • Fresh cream- 2-3 tablespoons
  • Kasoori methi- 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger julienne- for garnish
  • Coriander leaves- for garnish

How to make Mushroom Tikka Masala Restaurent style

  1. Wash and wipe mushrooms and keep aside.
  2. Take 4 tablespoons hung curd in a bowl.
  3. Add all the spices given under marination.
  4. Mix it property then add mushrooms.
  5. Coat mushrooms very well with the batter and keep aside for marination atleast for 1 hour or more.
  6. Meanwhile soak the cashews in the water.
  7. After 1 hour thread the mushrooms on the skewers.
  8. Cover a pan with foil and place skewers on it. Now bake or grill them in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes on the 200℃.
  9. Now mushrooms are ready for gravy.
  10. For the gravy heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan or kadhai.
  11. Add onions, and saute on the low flame.
  12. When onion gets brown add ginger garlic paste.
  13. Saute till raw smell of ginger garlic goes away.
  14. Now add capsicum and slit green chillies and saute for a minute.
  15. Now add salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and garam masala and mix well.
  16. Make a paste of soaked cashews and tomatoes in a mixer grinder, and add this paste in the kadhai.
  17. Along with this add leftover marination masala and give a nice mix.
  18. Saute for 4 to 5 minutes, then add 1 cup water, mix and let it comes to boil.
  19. Then add sugar and mushrooms,mix and let it cook for few minutes on the low flame.
  20. Then add fresh cream, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes or till the gravy done.
  21. At the last step add kasoori methi, give a last mix and switch off the flame.
  22. Your mushroom tikka masala is ready to serve.
  23. Garnish with coriander leaves and ginger julienne and serve with chapati or naan.
My Tip: You can pan fry your mushrooms instead of baking or grilling. After frying mushrooms you can make gravy in the same pan.
