Ingredients to make Pineapple Chutney , my style ...

  • Cubed pineapple 1 1/2 cup
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Sugar 150 gms
  • Dry red chilli 3
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Water 1 cup
  • Yellow mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Ghee 1 tsp
  • Oil 1 tsp

How to make Pineapple Chutney , my style ...

  1. Wash and cut pineapple
  2. Soak 1 tbsp poppy seeds and 1 red chilli in 2 tbsp warm water for 45 _ 50 mins , this is very important
  3. Heat a nonstick pan , add oil + ghee , also add yellow mustard seeds
  4. When spluttered add dry red chilli
  5. Saute 1_2 mins
  6. Add pineapple pieces
  7. Saute then cover and cook for 5_6 mins
  8. Add turmeric powder and salt
  9. Again cover and cook for 3_4 mins
  10. Now add sugar , mix well and stir continuously
  11. Add water , simmer for 10 mins
  12. Make smooth poppy seeds paste
  13. Add this paste to the pan
  14. Continue to cook until it reaches the desired consistency
  15. Adjust spices
  16. Serve at room temperature
My Tip: Instead of sugar you can add jaggery.
