Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Mushrooms – 300 gms cut into halves 
  2. Onions – 1 medium finely chopped
  3. Tomato - 1 medium finely chopped
  4. Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  5. Chili powder – 1 tbsp 
  6. Garam masala – 1 tbsp 
  7. Dry red chillies – 3 
  8. Peppercorns – 2 tbsp 
  9. Fennel seeds  – 1 tsp  
  10. Coriander seeds – 1 tsp 
  11. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp 
  12. Oil – 3 tbsp 
  13. Curry leaves – 1 sprig 

Instructions

  1. Heat few drops of oil in a pan. Add dry red chilies, peppercorns, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, coriander seeds and fry them till the raw smell goes off. Let it cool down and grind them to a fine powder.
  2. Heat the remaining oil. Add half of the curry leaves, onions and ginger garlic paste and saute them till the onions turn soft.
  3. Add the tomatoes and saute them till they become mushy. Add the mushrooms and red chili powder, salt, garam masala and saute till the water released by mushroom dries up which might take approx 10 mins or little more.  
  4. Add the ground masala powder and the left over curry leaves. Stir and mix well till the masala gets blend nicely with mushroom.
  5. Fry for about 5 mins and take off the flame.
