Kerala fish curry

Ingredients to make Kerala fish curry

  • 250 gm fish (any fish)
  • 1 medium sized tomato
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 100 grams green peas
  • 2-3 green chillies sliced
  • 1/2 cup tamarind extract
  • 6-8 garlic cloves
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1 cup water
  • salt to taste

How to make Kerala fish curry

  1. Grind the ingredients, onion, tomatoes, garlic and green chillies and make a paste. Keep aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan, add in the spices and curry leaves along with the grinded paste and fry till it turns into a golden brown colour.
  3. Next pour in the tamarind extract along with the water and bring it to a boil.
  4. Put in the fish pieces and salt to taste, let it simmer and cook for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with freshly boiled rice.
