Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. All purpose flour4 cups+2 tablespoon
  2. Yeast 1tablespoon
  3. Powdered milk 2 tablespoon
  4. Salt 1teaspoon for dough+1 teaspoon for chicken filling
  5. Egg 1for dough+1 for glazing
  6. Castor sugar 1 teaspoon
  7. Oil 4 tablespoons
  8. Baking powder 1/4 teaspoon (to reduce any yeasty smell)
  9. Chicken boiled & shredded1 1/2 cups to 2 cups
  10. Medium size onion 1
  11. Black pepper 1 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Chopped coriander leaves 2 tablespoons
  13. Chopped green chilies 4
  14. Garam masala powder 1teaspoon
  15. Unsalted butter 2 tablespoons
  16. Milk 1 cup

Instructions

  1. For the filling, heat butter fry onion till soft.Then add 2 tablespoons flour with 1 teaspoon salt, black pepper, garam masala.
  2. Add the milk and cook till thick.
  3. Mix in the shredded chicken, add chopped green chillies and coriander leaves.
  4. Remove and cool completely.
  5. For the dough,mix together 4 cups all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon castor sugar,2 tablespoons milk powder, 1 tablespoon yeast, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 4 tablespoon oil and 1egg in a bowl.
  6. Knead to a medium soft dough with slightly warm water.
  7. Leave to rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  8. Divide the dough into 2 or 3 depending on how big you want the loaves
  9. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  10. Brush some softened butter over it.
  11. Put your filling in the centre of the rectangle.
  12. Make slits on either sides of the rectangle from top till bottom leaving a small portion towards the end so as to resemble a fish tail.
  13. Pull the slits alternately from either sides towards the centre so that the filling is covered.
  14. Glaze the top of the bread with egg.
  15. Move it into a greased baking tray.
  16. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degree centigrade for 25-30 minutes until the top of the bread turns into golden brown colour.
  17. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
