Ingredients to make mutton masala

  • Mutton 1 kg
  • onion 4 large size
  • Garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Ginger paste 2 tsp
  • Curd 3 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 2 tsp
  • Red Chili powder 2 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
  • Black cardamom 2 no
  • cinnamon 2 pieces
  • mace 1/2 pieces
  • bay leaf 2no
  • green cardamon 6 no
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard oil 3 tbsp
  • deshi ghee/clarified butter 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • chopped coriander and green chili for garnishing

How to make mutton masala

  1. wash the mutton, now mix 1 tbsp curd,1 tsp salt,black pepper powder,1tsp ginger and 1 tsp garlic paste.cover and leave it for 1/2 hour.
  2. heat ghee in a pan and slice one onion fry into ghee till golden and little crisp.
  3. make a paste with remaining onions, heat the oil in pressure cooker .turn off the flame. add whole spices and cumin seeds let them crackle .
  4. now switch on the gas and add ginger, garlic paste saute it add onion paste cook till golden brown.
  5. now add dry spices and stir it continuously, add marinated mutton fry with spices till the oil separates.
  6. add remaining curd cook it 5 minute more, add 2 glass water, cover and cook for 15 minutes on low flame.
  7. garnish with coriander and green chili, serve hot with chapati, rumali roti or boiled rice.
