Goat spleen curry

Ingredients to make Goat spleen curry

  • 2 large Goat spleen/ Tilli/ Manneral (cleaned and cut into small pieces)
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp pepper powder (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 2 tsp cumin (zeera) powder
  • 3 tomatoes pureed
  • 1 Cup water
  • ½ lemon
  • Chopped coriander leaves

How to make Goat spleen curry

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions.
  2. Saute till the onions turn golden and then add ginger garlic paste.
  3. Saute for a few seconds till the raw smell goes and then add salt, pepper powder and cumin powder.
  4. Mix well and add the tomato puree.
  5. Cook for a few minutes till the raw smell of tomatoes goes and oil starts leaving the surface.
  6. Now add goat spleen (tilli), coriander leaves and water and bring to a boil.
  7. Close a lid, reduce heat and cook for 10 to 15 minutes till the goat spleen is cooked.
  8. Add lime juice and cook for a couple of minutes.
  9. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve hot with white rice or roti.
