ABOUT Buttery jackfruit seeds curry RECIPE

A spicy tomatoe based curry enjoyed with rice or phulkas. I'm not sure if it's a restaurant style curry but hope it gets added soon.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Jackfruit seeds - a cup
  2. Butter - 1 tbsp
  3. oil 1tbsp
  4. For the paste :
  5. I large onion
  6. 6 green chillies
  7. Tomatoes chopped - 3
  8. Spice powders :
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  11. Dhania jeera powder - 1 tsp
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Sugar - 1/2 tsp (optional)
  14. Coriander for garnishing
  15. Cream fir garnishing

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the jackfruit seeds on high flame for few minutes so that the peels can be removed.
  2. Now remove the peels
  3. These are the peeled seeds
  4. Now keep water to boil and add these peeled seeds, cover and cook for few mins
  5. Remove the seeds and press each seed with your palm or a laddle
  6. Take a sauce pan and add a tbsp of butter
  7. As it melts add a tbsp of oil
  8. Now add the onion chilli paste
  9. Fry till the paste browns nicely
  10. Add the ginger garlic paste and fry
  11. Now add the chopped tomatoes
  12. Add some salt cover and cook till mushy
  13. Now add the spice powders
  14. Stir fry and add a cup of water.
  15. Now add the hand pressed jackfruit seeds
  16. Stir and add required salt and sugar, add some coriander leaves
  17. Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 mins
  18. Garnish with fresh cream and coriander
