About Sweet Potatoes and Feta Tikkis Recipe

A twist to the traditional aloo tikki, this sweet and salty snack is really quite excellent

Sweet Potatoes and Feta Tikkis

Ingredients to make Sweet Potatoes and Feta Tikkis

  • 2 big Sweet potato
  • 50gm Feta
  • 5gm cumin powder
  • 5gm Fresh coriander
  • 2 gm Garam masala
  • Panko crumb for crumbing
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • For the flour batter:
  • 2 cup Refined flour
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • water for making batter
  • Granny smith chutney:
  • 2 Green apple peeled
  • 15gm coriander chopped
  • 3-4 green chilly
  • 10ml lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

How to make Sweet Potatoes and Feta Tikkis

  1. Take the sweet potato and roast the sweet potato in the oven at 150 degree Celsius for 15 mins. So that it can become soft and tender from inside and crusty from outside skin.
  2. Once the sweet potato is done then take peel the skin and grate the potato from the grater. Then add the spices to the sweet potato and mash.
  3. Once the potato is mashed, make a circle and stuff it with feta and make it into patty.
  4. Then take all the ingredients for flour batter and mix it. Then dip the patty to the batter and coat it with the Panko/ bread crumb and keep it in the fridge so that Panko can set.
  5. Once the Panko is set then heat the oil in the frying pan. Then shallow fry the patty. Once the patty is golden brown from one side then flip it to the other side and give the same color to the other side as well.
  6. Present the tikki with granny smith chutney to give a twist to the flavor.
  7. For Granny smith chutney, take all the ingredients and blend it in the blender so that it becomes fine puree.
  8. Serve with the sweet potato tikki
