This mildly spiced creamy mushroom dish is an absolute crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Mushroom-2 1/2 cups
  2. Ginger garlic paste-2 tsp
  3. Hung Curd-1 cup
  4. Kashmiri red Chilli Powder- 2 tsp
  5. Cumin Powder-11/2 tsp
  6. Coriander Powder-1 ½ tsp
  7. Garam Masala Powder- 2 tsp
  8. Turmeric Powder-1 tsp
  9. Tomatoes-2 large (Boiled and pureed)
  10. Kasuri methi-1 tbsp
  11. Butter- 1 ½ tbsp
  12. Cream- 2 ½ tbsp
  13. Sugar-As per taste
  14. oil-1 tbsp
  15. Salt-As per taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the mushrooms in half.Marinate the mushrooms for 30 mins with the Ginger garlic paste, Hung Curd, Kashmiri red Chilli Powder, Turmeric powder, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Garam Masala Powder(1tsp) and salt.
  2. Now heat oil in a pan and add the marinated mushroom and let it cook for 10 mins.
  3. Meanwhile to make the makhani sauce boil the tomatoes in a cup of water for 7 minutes, peel the skin and make a puree. In a separate pan add the tomato puree and let it cook on high till all the water has evaporated.
  4. Add the butter, kasuri methi and the rest of the garam masala. Cook for few minutes and add the cream. The makhani sauce is done now.
  5. Now add this sauce to the mushroom and cook till oil starts leaving the sides. Add sugar and salt as per your taste ( I personally like it a little sweet).
  6. Garnish with Green chillies and a spoon of cream. Enjoy it with naan or pulao.
