Oats Daddojanam is my twist to regular curd rice. In this recipe oats are cooked and tempered with spices and garnished with fruits and nuts. A healthy option if you are looking out to cutting carbs.

Ingredients Serving: 2
Oats- 1 cup
Water- 1 and 1/2 cup
Curd- 1 cup
Oil- 1 tsp
Cashew nuts- 1 tsp
Raisins- 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Chanadal- 1 tsp
Urad dal- 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
Few Curry leaves
Dry red chillies- 1, broken
Ginger- 1/2 inch piece chopped
Green chilles- 1 chopped
Pomegranate seeds- 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Instructions
Heat water in a pan, bring it to a full boil and add the oats with salt to taste. Stir it well and cook for 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
In a mixing bowl, beat the curd till its smooth and set aside. In another frying pan heat the oil and fry the cashew nuts till they are golden, remove and set aside.Then fry the raisins in the same oil till they are golden, remove and set aside.
Now add the mustard seeds, let them pop, then add the channa dal, urad dal, chopped ginger, chopped green chilies, curry leaves, broken dry red chilies, cumin seeds and fry for a while. Add this tadka (talimpu) to the curd.
Then add this tempered curd into the cooked oats mixture and stir well. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and serve.
