ABOUT Amrakhand RECIPE

Amarkhand or mango shrikhand is an Indian sweet dish which is made of strained yougurt or curd. Amarkhand is very famous and one of main dessert of Maharastra cuisuine.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 3 cup yogurt/curd/ dahi..1 cup =250ml
  2. 1 tsp crushed cardamom seeds
  3. 2 ripe Alphonso /any other variety of mango
  4. 1 PINCH SAFFRON
  5. 1 tbsp milk
  6. 1 /2 cup sugar
  7. FOR GARNISH
  8. 1/2 cup cubes of mango
  9. 1 tbsp blanch peeled sliced pistachios
  10. 1 tbsp blanch peeled sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Hung the curd in muslin, cheese or in kitchen towel for 3-4 hours . so that all water comes out
  2. In milk add saffron and keep it aside.
  3. Puree the mangoes
  4. Add mango puree and thick hung curd along with sugar and crushed cardamom in blender and blend it well.
  5. Add saffron milk and mix well
  6. Pour amarkhand in serving bowl.. keep it in fridge for chill
  7. When serve garnish it with chopped mango, sliced almonds and pistachios..Serve it with poori as tradition or as it.
