ABOUT mtr style rawa Idli RECIPE

this is one of my favorite idli and chutney,made out of semolina/rawa and tempering with curry leaves,urad dal,chana dal gives awesome taste to these idlies,rawa is firstly roasted and then soaked in curd,I made bite size idlies you can make big one also,it can be served with regular chutney or coconut chutney so friends lets try these idlies

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 4cups rawa/semolina
  2. 2cups curd
  3. water if needed
  4. salt to taste
  5. eno sachet 1&1/2
  6. for tempering——
  7. Oil 2tsp
  8. handful of cashewnuts
  9. 1tsp mustard seeds
  10. 1/2 tsp cummin seeds
  11. some curry leaves
  12. 1tsp of urad dal
  13. 1tsp of chana dal
  14. ingredients for chutney
  15. fresh coconut 1cup
  16. roasted horse gram dal 1/2 cup
  17. salt to taste
  18. 2green chilly

Instructions

  1. in a pan add oil on slow flame
  2. as it becomes hot add cumin seeds
  3. add mustard seeds
  4. break and add cashewnuts
  5. add curry leaves
  6. add urad and horse graam dal
  7. as cashewnuts changes Colour add rawa
  8. dry roast everything for 2minutes
  9. switch off flame
  10. cool rawa for 10 minutes
  11. now add curd and salt
  12. mix thoroughly
  13. add water if needed
  14. now keep aside for 10 minutes
  15. now add a sachet of eno
  16. batter will start bubbling
  17. grease idli moulds
  18. pour batter and steam for 10 12 minutes
  19. now coconut chutney preparation
  20. add coconut and roasted dal to jar
  21. add green chilly
  22. add salt
  23. grind to fine paste
  24. if needed add water
  25. remove idlies after cooling
  26. serve with chutney
