Ingredients to make Achari Paneer, pictorial recipe

  • Paneer pieces 400 gms
  • Onion 1
  • Garlic Pods 4
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • fennel seeds whole 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds whole 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Mango pickle 2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar 1/2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp
  • Yoghurt 3/4 cup
  • Hing 1/4 tsp
  • Kasuri methi 1 tsp
  • Water 1 cup

How to make Achari Paneer, pictorial recipe

  1. If using frozen paneer blanch them in salted water for 7_8 mins , ignore this step if using fresh paneer
  2. Take a big bowl , add yoghurt , salt , sugar and mango pickle , mix well
  3. Now marinate paneer pieces with this mixture
  4. Keep aside for 1 hour
  5. take a pan heat oil , add whole cumin , coriander , fennel seeds , tomato pieces
  6. Saute until tomatoes are soft
  7. Now make a smooth paste with little water when cooled down
  8. Now heat oil again add chopped onion , crushed garlic and ginger
  9. Saute until onions are soft and translucent
  10. Now add the ground paste
  11. Saute and mix well
  12. Now add chilli powder and garam masala powder
  13. Saute for 1_2 mins , add marinated paneer and hing
  14. Cook and cover for 5_7 mins
  15. Add 1 cup warm water
  16. Add kasuri methi , boil the gravy until it is thickened.
  17. Serve hot , garnish with chopped coriander leaves
My Tip: You can use pickle masala powder instead of black pepper powder.
