Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For the Chicken Marinade
  2. 1 kg chicken with bone
  3. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. Salt to taste
  6. For the curry paste
  7. 1/2 cup fresh Grated Coconut
  8. 1/2 an inch ginger
  9. 5-6 cloves garlic
  10. 1 medium sized onion
  11. 1 tsp roasted Seasame seeds
  12. Water as per required
  13. For the curry
  14. 3 tbsp oil
  15. 7-8 Curry leaves
  16. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  17. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  18. 1 tsp garam masala
  19. Water as per required
  20. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, marinade the chicken with ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder and Salt. Keep aside for 10 mins atleast
  2. Meanwhile, make the paste for the curry. In a grinder, add coconut, Seasame seeds, finely chopped onion, ginger and garlic. Add 3 Tbsp water.
  3. Now, in a pressure cooker heat oil, add the curry paste. Fry it till it changes colour or the oil starts to separate. Now add the curry leaves. Add the marinated chicken.
  4. Now, add red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, salt to taste. Mix well
  5. Add enough water as per the consistency of the gravy you wish to have. Pressure cook the chicken till it's nicely cooked and is tender. Cook it approximately for 10-15 mins.
  6. Garnish with lots of fresh coriander and serve it with Roti or rice.
