ABOUT Bengali Style Aloo Bukhara Chutney RECIPE

Aloo Bukhara is a seasonal fruit available during the end of summer and start of monsoon. Aloo Bukhara chutney is a sweet and sour dip which can be enjoyed with your meal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Aloo Bukhara (Indian Red Plum) - 1/2 kg
  2. Sugar - 250 gm
  3. Raisins - handful
  4. Dried Mango Sheet/ Aam Satto - 100 gms, cut into cubes
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Dry Red Chilli - 2
  7. Mustard Oil - 2 tablespoon
  8. Bhaja Masala (Coriander Powder: Cumin Powder: Black Pepper Powder: Garam Masala Powder =2:2:1:1, Dry Roast and use) - 1&1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash the plums and boil them in water for 10 minutes. Peel the skins and mash the plums.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add two dry red chilli. Wait for them to crackle.
  3. Next, add chopped dried mango sheet. Saute them and add the mashed plums. Boil for 7 to 10 minutes.
  4. Add salt to taste. Next, add sugar and stir continuously.
  5. Add raisins and finally add Bhaja masala and switch off the gas.
  6. Allow it to cool and preserve in a glass jar and refrigerate it. Enjoy it with your meal.
