Ingredients to make Medjoool Dates Apple Banana Yogurt Smoothie

  • Medjool Dates - 1/4 cup (Pitted and finely chopped)
  • Banana - 2 medium size Ripe ones
  • Apple - 1 medium size
  • Dash of cinnamon powder
  • Home cultured thick Yogurt / Greek Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  • Ice Cubes - 4-6

How to make Medjoool Dates Apple Banana Yogurt Smoothie

  1. As Medjool dates are soft in texture I don't soak them. Just cut them real small.
  2. Cut and freeze apple and banana. You can use it fresh too but freezing gives creamier smoothie.
  3. In a blender add the fruits and yoghurt and blend until smooth. Sometimes you may find small pieces of dates but that taste very nice. I like something to chew on. You can make a paste of dates before adding if pieces are not your thing.
  4. No added sugar/honey or any syrup in this one.
  5. Pour into a tall glass, add a dash of cinnamon powder, a few ice cubes and it is ready to drink. I add a little coffee sometimes but that's rare.
My Tip: 1. Use unblemished fresh fruit. 2. Add soaked poha or oat meal to make it healthier. 3. If using dates that are hard, soak them overnight or in some warm milk/water for an hour before use. 4. Use almond milk / soy milk if desired.
