Ingredients to make Danyachi Amti( Groundnut curry)

  • Groundnuts 1/2 cup
  • Dry red chillies 4-5
  • Kokum 4-5
  • Cumin seeds 2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder as per taste
  • Jaggery as per taste
  • Ghee for cooking
  • water 4 cups
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Danyachi Amti( Groundnut curry)

  1. Take Kokum, wash and soak for about 10 mins.
  2. Dry roast groundnuts until slightly colour change, taking care not to burn at all.
  3. Take the roasted groundnuts, 1tsp cumin seeds, dry red chillies, red chilly powder in a mixer and grind it to a fine powder, without any water.
  4. Now take a pan, add ghee let it get warm, add cumin seeds.
  5. Next, add groundnut powder (chutney) and saute for few seconds, again do it quickly to prevent from getting burnt
  6. Now add kokum, along with its water, mix well.
  7. Add 4 cups water, let it simmer for 2-3 mins.
  8. Add jaggery and salt as per taste, mix well..simmer 2 more mins.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  10. Serve hot
My Tip: Take care not to burn groundnuts while roasting, as well as after adding chutney, or else it will get bitter in taste.
