ABOUT Spicy Honey Baked Basa RECIPE

Basa is a species of catfish usually native to the shores of Vietnam and Thailand. It's a soft and moist fish without bones and the fishy smell. In India, it is usually found in frozen packs.The fish is low fat and a good source of protein too.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Basa fillet 2 whole
  2. Red bell pepper 1 small or 1/2
  3. Mustard seeds 8 tablespoons
  4. Dried chillies 10( seeds removed)
  5. Garlic Cloves 8
  6. Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Salt according to taste
  8. Tabasco 2 teaspoon
  9. Red chilli flakes 2 teaspoon
  10. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Lemon 3 (juice of 2 lemons and 1 sliced for garnish)
  12. Olive oil 2 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash the basa fillets and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Preheat the oven at 200-degree c and spray oil in the baking tray.
  3. Take the garlic cloves, dry red chillies, red bell pepper, mustard seeds and grind them to a paste.
  4. Mix salt, black pepper, red chilli flakes red chilli powder or Mirch with oil and lemon juice as well in the bowl along with the paste.
  5. Braise the fish with the above mixture evenly.
  6. Sprinkle salt, pepper and lime juice on top.
  7. Put the fish to bake through in the preheated oven for 10 mins.
  8. Check with the fork for its doneness.
  9. Once done garnish with chopped coriander and sliced lemon.
  10. Enjoy!
