Mildly spiced yummy fish curry

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Red snapper(sankara) fish- 1/2 kg
  2. Tamarind- Gooseberry size
  3. Coconut -1/2 cup tightly packed
  4. Coriander powder -1 tbsp
  5. Chilly powder- 1/2 tbsp
  6. Turmeric powder -a pinch
  7. Garlic-2 cloves
  8. Jeera-1 tsp
  9. Salt as required
  10. Curry leaves few
  11. Coconut oil 2 tsp
  12. Methi seeds 1/2tsp
  13. Mustard seeds 1/2tsp

Instructions

  1. Clean fish and wash well. Keep it aside.
  2. Grind coconut finely along with jeera, garlic, coriander powder and chilli powder.
  3. Take the fish in a pan. Add the tamarind water and coconut paste. Add salt and turmeric. Gently shake the pan so that the masala spreads evenly. Add required water for curry.
  4. Cook the fish in high flame for first five minutes and then in medium low flame.
  5. Finally, heat coconut oil, add mustard seeds. Once it splutters add methi seeds and once it changes colour add curry leaves and pour it in the fish curry.
  6. Keep it closed for at least 10 mins before serving.
