About Siachen Omelette Recipe

Now this is an omelette shared an ex-Army friend Gautam Nandy, who has spent considerable time at the Siachen glacier. When they got tired of the cardboard, packaged meals, this was an omelette made fit for a king at an altitude of over 20,000 ft. A Siachen Omellet is essentially Maggi noodles cooked with whatever you want, onions, chillies etc and then wrapped in an omelette. So here is mine, Maggi stuffing, cooked without the flavouring agent, but with some soaked shitake mushrooms and a little left-over mutton gravy and lots of chopped green chillies.

Siachen Omelette

Ingredients to make Siachen Omelette

  • Maggi noodles: 1/2 packet
  • eggs: 2
  • green chillies: Finely chopped to taste
  • Mutton gravy: with small bits of mutton
  • olive oil: 1 tbsp

How to make Siachen Omelette

  1. Whisk the eggs well. No salt to be added.
  2. Add the chopped green chillies
  3. Cook the Maggi and as it starts to thicken add the mutton gravy and cook it to a dryish consistency. (You can use any flavouring agent.)
  4. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan
  5. Pour in the egg mixture and as it sets place the Maggi in the middle
  6. Fold like in an omelette and flip over
  7. Cook through and enjoy with tomato ketchup
