Baked yogurt jazzed up with pomegranate coulis and fresh strawberries makes Bengali Dessert more luscious and delectable

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Hung curd -1cup
  2. Condensed milk -1/2cup
  3. Fresh cream -1cup
  4. Powdered sugar -1tbls
  5. Strawberries -10-15
  6. Pomegranate -1large
  7. Cornstarch -1tsp(optional)
  8. Lemon juice -1tbls
  9. Few dried roses
  10. For Pomegranate coulis
  11. Pomegranate juice -1/2cup
  12. Sugar 2 tsp
  13. Lemon juice -1tsp
  14. Cornstarch -1tsp(optional)
  15. For water bath
  16. Need oven proof dish for assembling yogurt bowls

Instructions

  1. For hung curd -Line a sieve with cheese cloth pour curd into it .
  2. Tie the corners of the cloth and hang it for one hour so that excess water squeeze out it become thick and creamy.
  3. In a pan take sliced strawberries add powdered sugar heat the mixture for 4-5minutes on low flame till strawberries gets tender and mushy.
  4. Puree the cool mixture and set aside .
  5. In a big bowl add hung curd, condensed milk ,cream together.
  6. Make two portions
  7. In one portion of yogurt add strawberry puree.
  8. Other portion is left plain yogurt.
  9. Preheat oven at 180d for 10 minutes.
  10. Grease the oven proof bowls.
  11. Pour the alternative layers of both flavoured yogurt .
  12. Fill about 3/4of each bowl .
  13. Take a large baking dish pour hot water such that half of the bowls get immersed .
  14. Place this baking dish in preheated oven at 150 d for 20 -25 minutes.
  15. Meanwhile prepare pomegranate coulis .
  16. Make cornstarch slurry by adding water set aside.
  17. Make pomegranate juice my adding lil amount of water sieve it discard the seeds.
  18. Add cornstarch slurry in pomegranate juice add sugar, lemon juice keep on low flame for 5 minutes keep stirring.
  19. BhapaDoi is ready drizzle pomegranate coulis over it garnish with some pomegranate arils garnish with fresh strawberries :relaxed:
  20. Luscious ,delectable Bengali dessert Bhapa Doi with 2 fruits is ready to relish
  21. Serve warm or chilled as u wish
  22. Enjoy!!
