ABOUT Frozen Flapjack RECIPE

This is one of my own recipes. I usually make pancakes by referring the 'The Basic Pancake' recipe by Maratha stewart. I modified it as 'Red Velvet Pancakes' to make it look more attractive. Then I gave twist to this recipe by chilling the flapjacks into fridge and topping each flapjack with whipped cream and tutti- fruity.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup - All purpose flour
  2. 1/2 tsp - Baking powder
  3. 1/4 tsp - baking soda
  4. 1/4 tsp - Salt
  5. 40 ml - Melted Butter
  6. 1/4 cup - sugar
  7. 1 large egg
  8. 1 cup - milk
  9. 1 tbsp - Vinegar
  10. 1/2 tbsp - Red Food Coloring
  11. 1tsp - Vanilla Extract
  12. 1+1/2 cup - Whipped Cream
  13. 1/2 cup - Tutti fruity or Chopped cherries

Instructions

  1. To make buttermilk, pour 1 cup milk into a bowl and whisk in 1tbsp of vinegar and allow this mixture to rest for 4-5 minutes.
  2. Shift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. And set a side.
  3. Pour buttermilk into large mixing bowl and add in egg, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract and red food color. Mix properly.
  4. Add in shifted dry ingredients into two batches. Whisk this mixture only until it combined.
  5. Butter the frying pan and pour 1/4 cup of batter at a time. cover the frying pan for about 30-40 seconds then flip and cook the opposite side.
  6. Allow all the flapjacks to be cool completely. I placed them into fridge for about 10 minutes.
  7. Place some whipped cream and tutti fruity or chopped cherries on the top of flapjack. Serve cool.
