Ingredients to make French Chicken

  • To marinate:
  • salt
  • 250 gms chicken boneless (cut length wise - strips)
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
  • Corn flour + maida (1:1 ratio)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 egg
  • Little red food color
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • For Tempering:
  • oil + oil for deep fry
  • Finely chopped garlic
  • Finely chopped ginger
  • curry leaves
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 Tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon soya sauce
  • vinegar [little]
  • Finely chopped cashew nuts

How to make French Chicken

  1. In a bowl take corn flour and maida. Add an egg and mix well. Add in salt, red chilli powder, chicken, red food colour, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice. Mix well. Marinate it for 1 hour.
  2. In a kadai add oil. Heat it. Deep fry the marinated chicken and keep aside.
  3. In a pan add little oil. Once it's hot add chopped garlic, chopped ginger and fry. Add in Curry leaves, green chillies, cashews and fry.
  4. Add in tomato sauce, soya sauce, vinegar. Fry it. Add in the fried chicken. Mix well.
  5. Serve hot.

My Tip:

If you need a gravy texture then add cornflour paste after you add all the sauce. Use tender chicken breast or boneless.
