Red chilli garlic dip

Ingredients to make Red chilli garlic dip

  • Dried red chillies 10-15
  • Garlic 4 pods
  • Medium sized tomatoes 3-4
  • Lemons 2
  • Salt to taste
  • sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Water 1 cup
  • Yellow mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Fenugreek Seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Oil 2 tablespoon

How to make Red chilli garlic dip

  1. Soak red chillies in sufficient water for at least 30 minutes. (Deseed the chillies if you can't tolerate the heat)
  2. Peel garlic cloves and chop the tomatoes
  3. In a grinder make a smooth paste of red chillies, garlic and tomatoes, use little water if required
  4. Heat oil in a wok, put fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds, when they start to crackle add garlic chilli paste along with sugar and salt
  5. Add water, cover the wok and let it cook on medium flame for 5-6 minutes or till the oil starts to float on the surface
  6. Sprinkle lemon juice and mix well
  7. Let it cool and store in a sterilised jar in refrigerator for 2 weeks
