Ingredients to make Papad Katori Chaat

  • 5 pieces of Papad
  • 2 katoris Boiled kabuli chana
  • 1 LARGE ONION CHOPPED
  • 1 large Tomato chopped
  • 1/2 bowl Namkeen Boondi (homemade)
  • 2 tsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp bhuna jeera powder
  • Salt to taste Bhujia sev to sprinkle on top
  • 2-3 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 green chili chopped
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala

How to make Papad Katori Chaat

  1. Make kabuli chana salad. In a bowl add kabuli chana, chopped onions, coriander leaves, green chilies, tomato and all the spices. Mix and adjust seasoning.
  2. Make the papad katoris by taking an uncooked papad and dipping it it in water for few seconds or until soft. Let it rest on a towel..
  3. Grease a medium microwavable bowl. Spread wet papad over the bowl. Gently press the center down and arrange rest of papad in the bowl. Press papad on the edges of the bowl.
  4. Micro high it for a minute. Wait for a minute and then remove it from the bowl. If there are couple of spots that are still wet, no worries, cook the shaped katori for another 30 seconds.
  5. Set it in a plate and repeat the process with rest of the papads. Cooked katoris are ready. When ready to serve, heat the mixture in the microwave. Add boondi and mix.
  6. Mix gram flour/besan, salt , lalamirch powder and pinch of soda. add water to make flowing consistancy batter.
  7. Pour this batter on ladel with holes. The drops would fall in oil. Fry till golden brown.
  8. Drain on tisaue paper. Stkre in a airtight jar.
  9. Fill each papad katori with the boiled chana mixture..Top it off with sev, boondi, chopped coriander and green chilies. (U have to be really quick in serving this snack as otherwise papads wd go soggy)
  10. Enjoy ur protein packed snack with tea or coffee.
