Ingredients to make Pyaazi aloo matar

  • onions - 2 medium
  • potatoes - 2 medium
  • tomatoes - 2 medium
  • ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • green chillies - 2
  • red chilli Powder - 1tsp
  • dhania powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • water - 1/4 Cup
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp (can add some ghee)

How to make Pyaazi aloo matar

  1. Add oil to a pressure pan
  2. Start tempering with mustard and cumin seeds
  3. As it splutters add the onions which are cut into chunk size peices
  4. As it browns and gets transperant reserve a spoon aside
  5. Now add the ginger garlic paste
  6. Saute till raw smell goes away
  7. Add the chopped tomatoes, spices powders
  8. Saute foe 2 mins
  9. Now add the chopped potatoes and green peas
  10. Add salt to taste
  11. Add the water
  12. Mix cover and cook for 2 whistles
  13. After pressure cools open and garnish with the reserved spoon of transperant fried onion chunks and serve with rice or phulkas
