Crispy Onion Tart

Ingredients to make Crispy Onion Tart

  • For the tart :
  • 75 grams Maida
  • 25 grams wheat flour
  • 15 grams of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of oil
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons​ of cold water
  • Pinch of salt
  • For the Onion Filling :
  • 1 big onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon chopped coriander
  • 5 to 6 teaspoons of grated cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • a pinch of pepper powder
  • 4 slices of tomatoes for garnish

How to make Crispy Onion Tart

  1. Take the maida and wheat flour in a bowl and add butter and oil and knead gently.
  2. Next add some cold water and knead it softly . Don't overknead.
  3. Now keep this Dough​ inside fridge for 15 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile in a pan heat some oil.
  5. Add garlic and saute for a minute then add the onions and wait till it gets cooked.
  6. Now switch off​ the gas and add oregano , salt, coriander , chill powder, pepper powder ,cream and mix together.
  7. Now roll the dough very thin somewhat like chapati and place it inside the tart mould. Make some holes with fork . I have used a cake mould
  8. Now bake this for 12 minutes in a preheated (5 minutes) oven at 200°C
  9. Now place the mixture and place some tomatoes in the half baked tart.
  10. Now sprinkle some grated cheese , oregano and chill powder over it.
  11. Now bake this again for 12- 15 minutes at 200°C. Once baked unmould and serve with ketchup .Your tart is ready

My Tip:

You can even add some cheeses Spread to the onion mixture or apply it as a base before placing the mixture
