ABOUT Mutton Pattice RECIPE

A delicious pattice where in the spiced kheema is covered by potatoes and fried to perfection.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1/2 kg mutton mince
  2. 1kg. Potatoes boiled and mashed
  3. Bread crumbs 2 cups
  4. Onions finely chopped 1 cup
  5. Green chillies 3-4 according to the taste
  6. Garlic 1/2cup
  7. Ginger 1/2 cup
  8. Fresh coriander leaves 1-2 cups
  9. Fresh curd 1 cup
  10. Chilli powder 2tsp
  11. Turmeric powder 1tsp
  12. Garam masala powder 2-3tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Grind together green chillies, garlic, ginger, fresh coriander leaves and curd. --marinate the mince with the above paste for 1/2 hr.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai . Add chopped onions and saute till the colour changes . Add marinated mutton mince and saute for 1 minute.
  3. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder and saute for 1 minute .Add 1 cup of water and cook the mutton for 15 -20 minutes .Let all the water evaporate and mutton becomes dry. Add juice of 1 lemon
  4. For covering : Mix together mashed potatoes and bread crumbs and salt. Make lemon sized balls of mutton mince and cover it potatoes mixture. Deep fry in oil till golden brown . Serve with ketchup or green chutney
