Ingredients to make Dahiwale stuffed onion gravy

  • Onion Patel - 12 nos
  • Chana dal paste - 2 tbsp
  • Boiled potato - 1 nos
  • Finely Chopped onion - 1/2
  • Chopped green chillies - 1 tsp
  • Chopped coriander - 1 tbsp
  • Besan - 2 tbsp
  • Hing - 1/2tsp
  • Salt
  • Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp
  • Oil for fry
  • For gravy
  • Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Grated onion - 1 nos
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Caram masala powder - 1.tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Chopped tomato - 1/2 cup
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Ghee - 1.tbsp
  • Sugar- 1/2 tbsp
  • Whole red chilly
  • Bay leaf
  • Cumin seeds
  • Salt

How to make Dahiwale stuffed onion gravy

  1. Take boiled mash potato in a mixing bowl, add chana dal paste, chopped onion, chopped green chillies, salt, hing and chopped coriander . Mix well
  2. Take big size onion ,cut into two portion and separate the Patel.
  3. Put onion Patel into the microwave for 2 minutes and it becomes soft.
  4. Fill the stuffing in the onion and roll it. Keep aside.
  5. Make a batter with basan, turmeric powder , red chilly powder and salt. Batter should be medium thin.
  6. Heat oil for deep fry. Dipped onion roll into the batter and deep fry. Keep side.
  7. Heat oil in another Kadhai, add whole cumin, bay leaf and red chilly. Add grated onion and fry to brown.
  8. Add all the spices into curd , except garam masala.
  9. When onion becomes brown, add ginger garlic paste and chopped tomato and cook for.2 minutes.
  10. Now add masala mix curd and add water after 5 minutes cook. Add salt and sugar.
  11. Add fried stuffed onion roll , garam masala and chopped coriander.
  12. Dish is ready.
