Ingredients to make Taawa naan

  • Flour 2 cups
  • Curd 1/2 cup
  • Baking soda 1/2tsp
  • Salt 1(/2tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Oil 1 tbsp

How to make Taawa naan

  1. In a bowl mix curd, salt, sugar, baking soda and oil. Now mix this mixture to the flour and the knead a very soft dough. Add water if needed. Keep it undisturbed for 6 hours
  2. Now after 6 hours, knead once more for a minute. Tear 6equal portions from the dough and make balls. Roll each dough ball to a thick naan like circle or oval according to your preference.
  3. On one side of the naan spread 1 tsp of water with back of a spoon. Heat a tawa, place the water side of the naan towards the tawa( water side will touch the hot tawa) and wait for bubbles to appear on the opposite side.
  4. Press some chopped coriander leaves to the naan on the front side . (Optional) Now hold the tawa tightly & flip the tawa ( the opposite side which is without water should get the direct heat from the fire ) Flip and check for brown spots. Remove the naan from tawa. Brush with some butter(optional)
