ABOUT Pyaz ka Saalan RECIPE

Very authentic onion gravy or curry as preffered .Authentic rajasthani dish,with aromatic and tasteful spices , whole onions simmered and cooked in there.Worth a try .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 8-10 one size small onions red or white as preffered
  2. 2 small onions paste
  3. 1 /2 cup tamarind pulp
  4. 1 tblspoon Fenugreek seeds
  5. 1 tblspn corriander whole
  6. 1 tspn Mustard Seeds
  7. 1 tblspn White sesame seeds
  8. 1 tbspn Cummin seeds
  9. 2 tblspn peanuts
  10. 5-6 whole red chillies
  11. 1/2 tspn Turmeric
  12. 2 tblspn oil
  13. Salt to taste
  14. curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Peel onion skin wash and keep aside
  2. Assemble all ingredients mentioned around
  3. Roast coriander,Cummin,sesame, peanuts and whole red chillies dry in Pot
  4. Cool and grind this mix well
  5. Heat oil, splutter mustard seeds,fenugreek/methi dana & curry leaves now
  6. Add the onion paste saute a little and add turmeric and salt now
  7. Add the ground masala to this hot saute oinion and add onions too
  8. Saute 5 minutes and add sum water cover cook for ten minutes
  9. After ten minutes onions started getting done, here add the Tamarind pulp
  10. Cook this gravy for 15 minute simmer on slow
  11. Add more water if it seems thick as per choice
  12. Cook till onions done
  13. Remove to serve now in a microwavable dish
  14. Serve with Roti or parathas
