Ingredients to make Rustic onion pizza

  • For pizza dough:
  • Maida - 2 cups
  • Active dry yeast - 1 tsp
  • Lukewarm water- 3/4 cup
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • For sauce:
  • Tomatoes - 4
  • Onion - 1, finely chopped
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt and herbs
  • For topping:
  • Onion - 2, cut into cubes
  • Capsicum - 1, cut into cubes
  • Green chillies - 2, cut in rounds
  • Mozarella cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
  • Herbs n chilli flakes

How to make Rustic onion pizza

  1. Pizza dough:
  2. Take water in bowl and sprinkle yeast over water and keep aside for 3-4 mins till foamy.
  3. Add in flour and salt.
  4. Knead to make a dough, add water if it looks very dry.
  5. Dough should be soft but not sticky.
  6. Knead for 5-6 mins.
  7. Coat with oil and keep covered for 1 1/2 hours.
  8. Sauce:
  9. Put slight cuts on the tomatoes. And put in boiling water for 5-6 mins, till the peels start coming off.
  10. Cool, peel and cut finely or grate.
  11. Heat oil in a pan, add finely chopped onions. Saute lightly. Add tomatoes, chilli powder, salt and herbs. Add little water. Cook on low flame till thick. Let it cool.
  12. Make the pizzas:
  13. Preheat oven at 220 C
  14. Divide dough into 2 portions.
  15. Roll each into a 10" circle. Or as per the size of the baking tray.
  16. Spread the sauce. Keep onion, capsicum and green chillies.
  17. Grate cheese over the pizza. Keep on a greased tray and bake for 10-12 mins.
  18. Sprinkle your favorite seasonings and enjoy your pizza hot!
