Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1kg Chicken
  2. 500gm Onion
  3. 3 big tsp Ginger garlic paste
  4. 2tsp Garam masala powder
  5. 3tsp Red chilli powder
  6. 1 bay leaf
  7. 5 pieces of cashew nuts
  8. 2 pieces of black cardamom
  9. 1 dry date
  10. coconut - 1 tbsp
  11. 3 tsp poppy seeds
  12. Salt [as per taste]
  13. oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken, and add 1/2 turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chilly powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp vinegar, 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste, mix well and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a sauce pan, fry the marinated chicken pieces, strain and keep aside. Now in the same oil, add some of the sliced and saute till brown, keep aside.
  3. Now add rest of the onions and saute till golden brown and then add the fried chicken pieces, and some salt.
  4. While the chicken is cooked, make a paste of cashew nuts, cardamom, dry dates, poppy seeds, coconut, in a mixer grinder.
  5. now add rest of the ginger garlic paste and the powdered masala into the cooking chicken, mix and cook further.
  6. now add the nuts paste into the chicken and mix well.
  7. Once the chicken is cooked, serve the cooked dish into a serving bowl and garnish with the browned onions. Serve with some hot parathas.
