ABOUT Batata vada RECIPE

Batata vada is very popular snacks in India in rainy season most the popular dish. Spiced mashed potato dumplings, dipped in batter and deep fried, a perfect snack when served with some garlic chutney on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. For Potato Ball
  2. 6 potato boil
  3. 1 medium onion chopped
  4. 1 tbsp chilly ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 tsp Kanda lahsun masala
  6. Salt
  7. 1 tsp garam masala
  8. For BATAR
  9. 2 cup gram flore
  10. Salt
  11. 1 tspRed Chilly Powder
  12. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  14. Water ass per need
  15. Oil for fry

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them.
  2. Heat some oil in a pan, add asafoetida or hing.
  3. Add Chilly, Ginger Garlic Paste And Saute
  4. Add Kanda Lahsun Masala And Saute It
  5. Add salt and Garam Masala to the mashed potatoes.
  6. Add Onions MAsala MIx to the Potato mixture and mix , then make roundels out of the potato mix.
  7. Add Chilly Powder , salt,baking soda,Turmeric and water to make a batter of thick consistency.
  8. Dip the potato mash balls into the batter, and drop them into the hot oil to deep fry them.
  9. Fry them until golden brown, strain and serve them hot with chutney.
