Ingredients to make Laal Chicken

  • 500 gm chicken
  • 10 - 12 red chilli
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 medium tomato
  • 10 garlic pods
  • 1 inch ginger
  • Salt
  • Water to cook

How to make Laal Chicken

  1. Wash and clean the chicken neatly.
  2. In a pan add red chilli (I used byadagi red chilli) and sufficient water to boil the chilli. Boil for 5 - 7 minutes. Cool it.
  3. In a jar add onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, boiled red chilli, salt. Grind it to a paste form.
  4. In a pressure cooker add in chicken and fry till the water evaporates completely.
  5. Now add in the grinded paste and fry. Add in sufficient water, close the lid and pressure cook the same for 2 to 3 whistles (depending upon the tenderness of the chicken).
  6. Once pressure is released, open the lid. Check for seasoning. Cook little more to reach semi gravy consistency. Serve hot.
My Tip: Use tender chicken. Adjust red chilli as per taste. Gravy consistency as per taste.
