Daal dulhan

Ingredients to make Daal dulhan

  • Tuar daal 1 cup soaked in water
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric pwd 1/2 tsp
  • Asafetida 1/4 tsp
  • Wheat flour 2 cup
  • Garlic 7-8 cloves
  • Green chillies 5-6
  • red chilli 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsl
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee 2 Tbsp

How to make Daal dulhan

  1. Take wheat flour, salt knead with water and make a dough.
  2. Pressure cook soaked daal by adding turmeric pwd, asafetida and salt to taste. Then place cooked daal in a deep pot in which we boil milk. Add 2 glass more water and bring boil to it and leave pot on stove in sim flame.
  3. Now take dough and make 4-5 balls of it and now make a bit thick big roti of it with rolling pin. Now take a small katori or cap of any round utensil to cut small circles .
  4. Take small round roti in hand and make cross on roti with finger dipped in water and now make a flower shape of it.
  5. Make maximum of flowers out of the dough. and keep it aside in a plate.
  6. Slowly put all the flowers in the pot of daal which is on sim flame. And now let the flowers cooked in daal with closed lid. When flowers will completely cooked it will come up.
  7. Now take a frying pan pour ghee and crackle cumin seed n mustard seeds while adding asafetida, garlic and green chilly finely chopped and red chilli pwd and make tadka.
  8. Garlic should turned little brown in color for tadka
  9. Pour this tadka over the flowers n daal in a pot.
  10. Serve hot daal dulhan...
