Onion pulav

Ingredients to make Onion pulav

  • Basmati rice 1 cup
  • Onion 2 finely sliced in long
  • Green chillies 2
  • Cloves 4-5 crushed
  • Cardamom 2 crushed
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Cinnamon stick 1 small crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • Kewra assence
  • A pinch of jalebi color dissloved in water
  • Water to cook
  • Raisins a few
  • Cashews a few

How to make Onion pulav

  1. Wash rice nicely and drain water in a seive and leave it aside for 2o mins.
  2. Take 2 tbsp of oil in a pot and add cumin, crushed cloves, cardamom, cinnamon stick , green chilli, onion and keep stirring until onion turns translucent.
  3. Now add cashews, raisins and soaked rice and keep stirring until rice turns slight golden in color.
  4. Now add 2 1/2 cup of water and salt to taste in it... And close the lid of the pot and sim the flame.
  5. When rice is 3/4 cooked add jalebi color mixed in water and 5-6 drops of kewra assence. Close the lid again.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves... Enjoy!
My Tip: Do add kewra assence for an awesome aroma...
