About Peas kachori Recipe

A perfect and crispy spicy snack which is a great accompaniment with a hot cuppa tea!

Peas kachori

Ingredients to make Peas kachori

  • For the dough :
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt as needed
  • water for kneading
  • pepper powder -1 tbsp
  • For the filling:
  • 1 cup of peas cooked and mashed
  • ginger chopped- 1/2 tbsp
  • fennel seeds-1 tsp
  • green chillies- 2-3
  • coriander powder-1 tsp
  • cumin powder -1 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida/hing
  • salt as needed
  • oil- 2 tbsp

How to make Peas kachori

  1. Place the flour, oil and salt in a mixing bowl. Pour in water slowly and knead to form a dough similar like roti dough. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  2. In a pan heat the oil and add in the fennel seeds, green chilli and ginger.
  3. Add in the mashed green peas and all the spice powders with salt and mix well. Keep this aside to cool.
  4. Divide the dough to small balls. Take one ball and shape it to a circle.
  5. Now put a spoon of the peas filling inside and gather the sides together in the centre and seal the opening .
  6. Now slowly roll the dough into a flat circle taking care not to tear it open. Repeat this process with the rest of the dough .
  7. In a separate pan heat oil to deep fry. Once the oil is heated well, slide in the kachori and deep fry until both sides are cooked well.
  8. Serve them hot for best taste.

My Tip:

You can also bake these in the oven or air fry them.
