Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Besan - 1 cup
  2. Rice flour- 1/4 cup
  3. Ajwain seeds- 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt as needed
  5. Oil- 2 tbsp
  6. Red chilli powder- 2 tsp
  7. Oil to deep fry
  8. Water to knead

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and sieve the rice and besan flour. Mix the oil into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Mix the rest of the ingredients and add water. Knead this to form a dough.
  3. Take the om podi or muruku press and fit in the small holes plate and grease it with oil inside. Take a small ball of the dough and gently stuff it inside the press.
  4. In an other pan heat the oil to deep fry. Once the oil is hot use the press and make small circles.
  5. Make two or three circles depending on your pan size. Fry it in a low flame and flip it after sometime.
  6. Take out and drain on a kitchen tissue when the bubbles in the oil subside.
  7. Serve hot. You can also store it in an air tight container.
