Vanilla Panna Cotta with Cherry Compote

Ingredients to make Vanilla Panna Cotta with Cherry Compote

  • For Vanilla Panna Cotta:
  • Milk – 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Fresh cream – 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Gelatin – 2 and 1/2 tsp
  • For the Cherry Compote:
  • Fresh cherries – 1 cup
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Lemon zest – 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1/2 tsp

How to make Vanilla Panna Cotta with Cherry Compote

  1. First boil milk.
  2. Then allow it to cool down to room temperature.
  3. Then sprinkle gelatin over the milk and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Next dissolve the gelatin in milk
  5. Add sugar and mix well.
  6. Next warm the milk slightly for 1-2 minutes. Do not boil.
  7. Switch the flame off, and allow to cool down.
  8. Next add the fresh cream and vanilla essence and blend well in a blender.
  9. Transfer the contents to moulds.
  10. Refrigerate overnight.
  11. To prepare the cherry compote, first remove the seeds from cherries.
  12. Then boil 1 cup water.
  13. Then pour the boiling water over the pitted cherries.
  14. Soak this overnight.
  15. Then transfer the soaked cherries with water to a saucepan.
  16. Add sugar, lemon juice and lemon zest and mix well.
  17. Then boil on high flame for about 5-8 minutes.
  18. Then simmer and allow to cook for about 20-25 minutes or until it turns soft and syrupy.
  19. Switch the flame off and allow to cool down completely.
  20. While serving, demould the panna cotta from the moulds and drizzle the cherry compote on top.
  21. Garnish with fresh cherries and mint leaves.
