Dudhi halwa/Lauki ka halwa

Ingredients to make Dudhi halwa/Lauki ka halwa

  • Bottlegourd-500 gms
  • Milk-500 ml
  • Ghee-1 tbsp
  • Cream/malai-2 tbsp
  • Milk powder-2 tbsp
  • Sugar-3/4th cup
  • Cardamom powder-1 tsp
  • Pista for garnishing

How to make Dudhi halwa/Lauki ka halwa

  1. Wash and peel the bottlegourd.
  2. Grate it.
  3. Take a big thick bottomed pan and heat ghee in it.
  4. Now add grated bottlegourd and saute for a minute.
  5. Then add full fat milk and cook on slow flame till the milk reduces.
  6. Now add cream and milk powder.Mux properly and cook on slow gas till all liquid evaporates.
  7. Add sugar and mix.Also add cardamom powder.Sugar releases water so again cook till the liquid dries up.
  8. Garnish with dryfruits of your choice and serve.
