ABOUT Malai Barfi RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. MILK-1 LITRE
  2. Sugar - 8 tbsp (can be adjusted according to each taste)
  3. Khoya (Mava) or Milk powder - 50gms
  4. Alum (Fitkari) -2 pinch
  5. Diced Almonds and Pistachios- 10- 12
  6. Saffron water -1tbsp
  7. Silver foil- (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Add saffron to 1 tbsp water. Soak diced almonds in this water. This gives nice color to the diced almonds.
  2. Add milk,alum, sugar, khoya/mik powder to a non stick pan.(If using milk powder ,prepare its paste in 1 cup milk)
  3. Place the pan on flame and keep stirring continuously. Let the mixture reduce.
  4. Remove it from flame until it is still little moist.
  5. Spread it on a try and let it settle.
  6. Decorate with diced almonds, pistachios and silver foil (silver foil is optional)
  7. Cut into medium squares and Serve
