Ingredients to make Penne In Basil And Lemon Cream Sauce

  • 1 cup Boiled penne pasta (follow the instructions on the packaging
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic butter (or regular butter)
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 5-6 Black peppercorns
  • 1/2 cup Boiled sweet corn kernels
  • 4-5 Fresh basil leaves sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Maida (All purpose flour)
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Dried italian herbs to taste

How to make Penne In Basil And Lemon Cream Sauce

  1. Heat the pan on low flame, add butter and oil.
  2. Once the butter melts, add the peppercorns and sauté for a minute.
  3. Add the flour and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Once the roux is ready, add milk and stir continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Let the sauce simmer for a couple of minutes while you stir it.
  6. Add the sliced basil leaves, corn kernels, season with salt and dry Italian herbs and mix well.
  7. Turn off the flame, let the sauce cool for a minute or two. and then
  8. Add the cream, lemon juice and stir keeping the flame low.
  9. Lastly add the boiled penne and toss everything together quickly.
  10. Turn off the flame and it’s ready.
  11. You can add grated cheese on the top if you wish.

My Tip:

Have it with a slice of garlic bread or some freshly baked dinner rolls.
