Ingredients to make Kheerni (Sindhi Dessert)

  • Milk (750millilitre- boiled)
  • Rice (1/2 Cup and half Cooked)
  • Almonds (8-9 chopped)
  • Raisins (9-10)
  • Green Cardamom (2)
  • Sugar (5-6 teaspoons)
  • Homemade Clarified Butter / Desi Ghee (2 teaspoon)

How to make Kheerni (Sindhi Dessert)

  1. Heat desi ghee in a pan, add nuts and sauté them for 30-40 seconds.
  2. In a heavy bottomed pan, start boiling milk alongwith green cardamom. Add the rice and cook it for 8-10 minutes on medium heat.
  3. Next add the nuts and cook it for 5 more minutes.
  4. Now add sugar, mix it and cook it for another 5 minutes.
  5. Kheerni is ready to serve.
  6. Garnish with some chopped almonds and raisins.Serve hot or chilled.
My Tip: 1) Milk should be full fat milk. 2) Soak rice for atleast 30mintues. 3) While cooking rice seperately do not add salt in it.
