Cheesy Herb Mathri Cigars

Ingredients to make Cheesy Herb Mathri Cigars

  • All purpose flour- 1 Cup
  • Refined Oil- 3 tbsp
  • Oregano Seasoning- 1 tsp
  • Basil- 1 tsp
  • Garlic Powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli Flakes(Optional)- 1 tsp
  • Amul cheese cubes (Grated)- 2
  • Salt to Taste
  • Oil as required to deep fry

How to make Cheesy Herb Mathri Cigars

  1. Mix the all purpose flour, 3 tbsp refined oil, oregano, basil, garlic Powder, chilli flakes and knead with water to form a semi soft dough (a bit harder than the dough for roti/chapatti).
  2. Next divide it into 8 equal sized balls. Roll each ball with a rolling pin of about 3” diameter. Prick the rolled dough with a fork.
  3. Place some cheese into the rolled dough in a line and roll to form a cigar shape. Close the ends with the help of a little water.
  4. Deep fry these cigar mathris in a heated kadai with oil on a low to medium flame till they turn into a beautiful golden brown colour.
  5. You can store these in an airtight container for future use. Or you can serve them instantly with tea as an evening snack.
My Tip: You can also use mozzarella cheese instead.
