ABOUT Cheesy Herb Mathri Cigars RECIPE

This tasty dish is a videshi twist to the desi mathri.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. All purpose flour- 1 Cup
  2. Refined Oil- 3 tbsp
  3. Oregano Seasoning- 1 tsp
  4. Basil- 1 tsp
  5. Garlic Powder- 1/2 tsp
  6. Chilli Flakes(Optional)- 1 tsp
  7. Amul cheese cubes (Grated)- 2
  8. Salt to Taste
  9. Oil as required to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Mix the all purpose flour, 3 tbsp refined oil, oregano, basil, garlic Powder, chilli flakes and knead with water to form a semi soft dough (a bit harder than the dough for roti/chapatti).
  2. Next divide it into 8 equal sized balls. Roll each ball with a rolling pin of about 3” diameter. Prick the rolled dough with a fork.
  3. Place some cheese into the rolled dough in a line and roll to form a cigar shape. Close the ends with the help of a little water.
  4. Deep fry these cigar mathris in a heated kadai with oil on a low to medium flame till they turn into a beautiful golden brown colour.
  5. You can store these in an airtight container for future use. Or you can serve them instantly with tea as an evening snack.
