Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Milk - 1/2 cup
  2. Butter - 1/4 cup
  3. Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Eggs - 2
  5. Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
  6. Maida - 1 cup
  7. Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
  8. Salt a pinch

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk and butter. Mix well. Take off the heat, add vanilla and leave to cool.
  2. Beat eggs in a bowl. Add sugar a little at a time and beat after each addition.
  3. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  4. Sift flour and baking powder. Add salt and mix. Add flour to egg mixture a little at a time and mix lightly. No need to mix too much.
  5. Pour the milk mixture into the flour. Beat this batter with a hand mixer or with a whisk. The batter will form air bubbles.
  6. Lower oven temperature to 170 degrees and bake for 25-30 minutes. Mine took exactly 28 minutes.
  7. Serve at tea time.
