ABOUT Shimuiyer Payesh (Vermicelli Kheer) RECIPE

Shimui / sevaiya / vermicelli is very popular in India. I have presented a very popular bengali desert known by the name Shimuiyer Payesh. Its very easy to make and is a comforting food. Kids relish eating it.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Vermicelli : 150 grams
  2. Ful fat cream Milk: 1 litre
  3. Sugar : ¾ cup
  4. Clarified butter : 2 tablespoons
  5. Cashew and raisins (optional) : 2 teaspoons

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk on low flame so that it reaches almost three-fourth of the original volume.
  2. In a non stick pan heat 1 ½ tablespoon of clarified butter, decrease the flame and fry the vermicelli till it turns golden brown.
  3. Pour the roasted vermicelli to the milk and bring to boil.
  4. Add the sugar and take out of flame after 5 to 7 minutes or till the vermicelli is soft.
  5. Serve hot or cold.
